Welcome to
read_hp, a Harry Potter book discussion community! Between March and August of 2007, this community took on the daunting task of reading through the entire Harry Potter series, chapter by chapter, in anticipation of the release of Deathly Hallows, which we then also read as a group.
In order to keep this awesome community going, it is now reopening to anyone who would like to discuss the HP series. The only rule? You must Only talk about the books. Please no movie talk, as there are a bevy of other HP communities on Livejournal that you can check out for such purposes.

Posting access is open to all members. If the need arises to moderate posting, we will change this rule, but for now, post all you'd like!
RULES
As stated above, this community is for book discussion ONLY. Any posts about the movies, fanart, fanfic, etc. will be deleted by a mod.
Discussions will be actively moderated, meaning at any time a thread can be frozen and/or deleted if the moderator feels it is inappropriate and/or offensive.
Keep in mind that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and while you may not agree, you need to respect other members' opinions as you would like your own to be respected.
Do this once, you get a warning. Do this twice, you're out.- Trolling. Behave yourselves.

WANK (What is wank?)
WANK WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Don't even try it. Friendly debate is encouraged, but if we feel that it is going in the wrong direction the thread will be screened or deleted.
Start wank once, your comment will be screened and you will recieve a warning. Start wank twice, you get banned. We're here to discuss books, not start flamewars.
Hopefully none of these rules will even need to be put into effect. Let's all try our best to remember that this is the final chance we will all have to read through the Potter series in anticipation of a new book. As long as we're all mature about this, we will have a lot of drama-free fun.
